For over twenty years, Joanna has been creating elegant, comfortable homes that feel as though they have evolved naturally over time rather than been consciously designed.  Her London-based studio is known for creating deeply personal interiors that reflect the character and lives of their owners, combined with meticulous planning and an exacting attention to detail.  With an intentionally small studio, clients benefit from Joanna’s personal involvement throughout every stage of a project.

Listed by House & Garden magazine in their Top 100 Designers, Joanna is published broadly both in print and on the internet and has projects featured in publications including Architectural Digest, House & Garden, Vogue and World of Interiors as well as writing articles for House & Garden and various newspapers.

Close collaboration with her husband Nick - furniture-maker and veteran of the London antiques trade - further enables the studio to create bespoke pieces and source truly individual items.

During the pandemic Joanna was a member of the Development Board of Pitzhanger Manor (John Soane’s country house) and devised The Pitzhanger Design Series, an initiative to raise awareness of the museum amongst the design community.

In 2022 Joanna collaborated with Tissus d'Hélène to create a bedroom for the inaugural WOW!house - an annual showhouse event at the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour in London, now in its fifth year, where top interior designers and architects are paired with leading brands to create full-scale rooms.

Most recently, Joanna has collaborated with de Gournay to create a wallpaper for her own house and is the author of A Decorator's Reflections on Making a Home published by Rizzoli.
